I Survived Childbirth, But Couldn't Survive....

It was the day I came back from my mom’s place three months after childbirth.

Those first three months were golden. Everyone around me was helping. All I had to do was rest, feed, eat and repeat. All I had to look after was myself and the baby. 😄

And then… I came back home.

My beautiful little abode that I had left three months ago was waiting for me. Or should I say, waiting for a war!

Hubby dear had been too busy to notice the inches of dust sitting happily on every surface.

The kitchen was screaming out loud because none of the vessels seemed to be able to find their right partners.

The cupboards had tiny creatures walking around as if they were training for their morning run.

And my heart sank.

The beautiful home I had left behind suddenly felt haunted, alone and should I say homeless.

So, naturally, I did what any woman would do.

I started cleaning the mess.

Day 1: I don't even remember when I fell asleep on the kitchen floor.

Day 2: I upgraded myself to the sofa.

Day 3: My body officially went on strike.

I was exhausted, clueless and completely drained. And somewhere in the middle of all this, my baby was whining for a feed, attention, cuddles… basically, the whole mommy package.

And I wondered… Is every mom's story the same?

If yes, then we are mommying along. ❤️

That’s when I spoke to a close friend, and she gave me the piece of advice I probably needed to hear for life.

She said:

“First, get help.”

Today, we have services like Snabbit, Urban Company and others that can help you get your home back in order.

“Second, stock up on healthy food from trusted sources.”

Because honestly, cooking elaborate meals when you are recovering from childbirth, feeding a baby and trying to figure out what day it is… is not exactly a priority.

That’s where I turned to Ajjis Homemade — for wholesome, traditional, homemade goodies that could make eating healthy a little easier.

And then she said the most important thing:

“Ignore the mess.”

Yes.

Ignore it.

Because right now, you matter the most.

Because if you are not fit, healthy and rested, who is going to come to your rescue?

I followed her advice.

And now, about 30 days into being back in my little nuclear family setup, I can finally breathe.

Motherhood doesn't come with a perfectly clean house.

It comes with sleepless nights, feeds, cuddles, chaos, laughter, exhaustion and a whole lot of figuring things out as you go.

And yes…
